Jungle Jam Quilt from Lovin' Life At The End Of The Dirt Road

Today I've got a baby quilt finish to share. It started with this bright jungle print I've had in my stash for over a decade. It's a magical jungle with unicorns and dinosaurs and walruses and horses mixed in with typical jungle animals, but when you're little, anything goes and I thought it was a cute print with fun primary colors. Plus, I remember it was in the clearance bin of 1

Finishes for Kids from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

There have been quite a few kid quilts getting finished lately.  We are starting to stockpile quilts for delivery this fall and winter.

Kristin sent in this fun quilt top.   I love the summery colors in the top.  On the back is a lovely dark coral flannel with fun dots sent in by Karyn.  Local quilter Cindy did the amazing quilting on it.

Kristin also sent in this cute little flannel quilt top and flannel backing.  I sent this one off to Cindy for quilting too.  Simple patchwork works so well for these donation quilts.

I haven't decided if ...

Sharing some Littles from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I thought I would share some little quilts today...

The top on this quilt is just a panel that Nann sent to us.  I didn't even add a border.  I thought it looked great just the way it is.

Check out this cute quilt made from Happy Blocks.  I would not have thought to group the colors like that - I like it!  The label fell off, but I think Marci sent in this quilt top.

For the string quilt lovers...The strings on this one finish at 1/2".  I think it looks amazing.  Karen sent in both the ...

Mid Week Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Boy, did I mess up on Sunday.  I took photos for Oh Scrap!  But the actually writing of the post completely left my mind.  Sorry about that.

Arthur has been very patient with me and all the hours I have been working.  So last weekend was all about him.  He loved all the attention.

This quilt is actually one of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilts.  I made these blocks ages ago.  I really don't need any more quilts, so I decided to finish it and donate it to Many Hands and Many Hearts.

This scrappy quilt top was sent ...

Love You S'more Quilt from Lovin' Life At The End Of The Dirt Road

I'm popping in to share my latest quilt finish todayThe grandbabies are still pretty little, but it won't be long before we'll want to take them camping. When you're little, that's such an adventure! So when this Love You S'more line appeared I was very tempted. I held out until an email arrived one morning advertising S'mores Layer Cakes for $15.00. I hit that order button so fast! The

It's Friday! from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

The end of the week is finally here so it is time to share some more finishes.

Let's start off with this fun scrappy log cabin quilt top sent in by Karen.  Each block starts with about a 4" novelty square.  It is super cute!

Karen also sent in the lime green backing fabric.  I love it when I see these scrappy quilts!

This quilt started out as a layercake donated by Karen.  I sent it off to Charlene to sew up into a quilt top.  The pattern is super simple.  Holly sent in this dark red and navy ...

For the Kids from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

There is always a nice mix of quilts that get completed every week for Many Hands and Many Hearts.  I love that we make quilts of all sizes.

Today, I am sharing quilts for kids.

Love, Love, Love this crayon quilt top sent in by Jenny.  I admit, I did add a border.  We received some fat quarters of the fun crayon print.  They didn't have a home and I knew they would be perfect for framing up this quilt.  The backing fabric came from Karyn and the quilting on this was done by Cindy.

This cute astronaut top ...

Finishes for Kids from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Today's parade of quilts are all going to kids.

This quilt top was made by Board Member Jeanne.  She had a bunch of cute pig fabric in her stash that she wanted gone. Turned out she had enough to also finish the backing and the binding.

This tall quilt top was sent in by Kristin.  It has lots of fun and silly novelty fabrics in it.  So, we HAD to put the flamingo back sent in by Laura.  I LOVE that pint!  We had to add a bit to one side, but I had this large chunk or periwinkle ...

More Pretty Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Lately, we have been seeing a lot of finishes.

Here are just a few....

I don't remember who sent them, but we received a big bag of HSTs.  Each one had a warm color and a cool color.  I think they were 4.5" square.  Jeanne took them home and created this amazing layout.  And thanks to Christy, we had this great floral fabric for the back.

Ages ago, Kat had sent me a big bag of black/white squares.  I think I made two big quilts out of them.  I still had a few more so I added ...

Beth and Carol’s Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Lots of quilts to share today!

Beth and her friend Carol have been busy making donation quilts and they decided to send a dozen to Many Hands and Many Hearts ❤️

Yep, they were all quilted and bound…all I had to do was add the label and get them delivered.

Beth made this one. I love the animal panel she used- it is so bright and colorful.
Prefect for lifting someone’s spirit.

A fun little giraffe quilt made by Beth.  Every time I see a yellow and black combination I wonder why I don't make one myself.

What a Week! from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

This has been a crazy week! Lots of big fabric donations coming through the door, huge boxes arriving full of finished quilts and bags of "kits" to be completed by our volunteers being made and distributed.  We are all working hard to keep up!

So today, I only have a few finished quilts to share because we are behind on photographs.

We did finish another Jewel Box quilt.  Janet laid out these blocks a long time ago and I have just gotten around to sewing up the quilt top. We put a lovely purple flannel on the back.

This quilt ...

Fall Flannel Quilt from Lovin' Life At The End Of The Dirt Road

This quilt came about as a request from our girl. She saw this quilt that I had made for her Daddy and she said it was the softest quilt she'd ever felt and she wanted one for herself. Farmhouse Flannel QuiltThis is Primitive Gatherings Flannel and it really is incredibly soft and cozy. I did a little research and found this online...perfect!

Some Kid Quilt Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

The end of the year will be here in no time at all.  So we are already prepping for the big shipments of kid quilts starting late summer.  Here are some we finished this week.

This fun car quilt is all flannel and super cuddly.  Kristin sent in the quilt top and the backing.  Local quilter Cindy quilted it up for us. She has a small machine setup, so she likes the tiny ones!

We received a couple bear panels (originally for making pillows), but we are using them for some small Happy block quilts.  I think we have two ...

Friday Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Computer problems are so frustrating!

My computer was down for a few days but I am back up and ready to share a few finishes.

There have been a lot of Rail Fence quilts getting finished lately and I have to admit I have loved them all!  This top was made by Mina.  I love her color combinations. Thanks to Nann, we had the perfect peach backing.

This colorful quilt top was sent in by Margie and Linda.  We had to wait a bit to finish this one because I really wanted some Kaffe Fassett fabric for the backing.  I ...

Mid Week Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I am so used to sharing quilt tops made by others, I was pleasantly surprised that I am sharing a quilt top I made months ago.

It looks like I sewed up this quilt top in July of 2024.  It has just been sitting in a stack of tops waiting to rise to the surface. I had forgotten how much I really liked this quilt.

I used a fun blue polka dot fabric sent in by Holly for the backing.

Mina sent in anther quilt top using this awesome box pattern.  Every time I see one get finished; I want ...

Another Week - More Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Tomorrow, it is time to make a delivery of Compassion Quilts to the hospital.
We are already working on next month's order!

I was happy to see this lovely scrap quilt in the pile to photograph today.  It proves to me I CAN make a nice scrap quilt.  All of these florals were all leftovers from previous quilts.  Mari sent in the backing fabric and local quilter Terry quilted it up for us.

Board President Penny made this Split 4-patch quilt top.  She has been busy using up a bunch of fall colored fabrics in her stash.  I think ...

A Few Friday Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Happy Pi Day Everyone!

Just a few finishes to share today.  All of these tops were ones I assembled.

I have had the blocks for this quilt piled next to my sewing machine for weeks.  It feels so nice to finally have it finished.  These are blocks from our Churn Dash block drive last year.  We still have quite a few blocks to sew together but if we are going to up our Veteran quilt deliveries, we are going to need to make a lot more quilts each month.  It won't take us long to burn through the blocks ...

Some Mid-Week Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Here at Many Hands and Many Hearts, we are working hard to work through the big backlog of quilt tops we have right now.  A few more longarm quilters have joined the team so it is full steam ahead!

The mom of a Board Member is a quilter and has offered to sew together "kits" into quilt tops.  She doesn't live in the area so the items are shuttled back and forth during visits.  This was a kit I put together from some fabric I pulled out of my stash. The pattern came from 3 Yard Quilts.  Barb did ...

Animal Crackers Quilt from Lovin' Life At The End Of The Dirt Road

Last night I finished binding a UFO from last yearI don't watch a lot of You-Tube videos, but somewhere along the line a Moonkin Stitchery clip popped up somewhere and I liked what I saw. Her tutorials are no nonsense, easy, clear and concise. Her older videos include a PDF download, but these recent ones do not. However, her tutorials are easy enough that a printed pattern isn't really necessary

Early March Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

It is interesting to see all the different quilts that get completed each week.  I never really know exactly what will cross the finish line.

This lovely quilt top sent in by Kristin and I quilted it up when I had some open time.  She also sent in the pieced backing.  I already have this one in the pile to go to the hospital in the next delivery.

When we receive panels, I tend to put them in a pile until I can find time to match them with a block drive or one of the elves decides to take ...
